Wayne Flebbe Arts Fund

Wayne Flebbe, at 68 years, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Squamish General Hospital on April 16, 2020. Wayne & his brother Rick were local music legends who lived in Whistler since 1988. As Whistler’s “Rock and Roll Soul Brothers” these iconic figures were present at every live show Whistler presented.

Wayne’s music knowledge and collection were encyclopedic. Many may recall Wayne as the original Whistler Hipster with his bullet proof curly hair, skinny black jeans, John Lennon glasses, topped with cowboy hat and leather jacket.

The number of grants disbursed to charities and qualified donees each year will depend upon the funds available to grant, as determined by Whistler Community Foundation, as well as the nature of applications received.

Our grants committee will review each application and evaluate the impact to community. Decisions will be based on projects or programs that:

  • provide funding for new or existing arts programs in the Whistler community.
  • may include support for operating costs including wages, and/or assets.
  • include performing arts, visual arts, or literary arts.
